The HTC Vive Virtual Reality headset
is currently Adventures with VR’s preferred headset for all events where participants are standing or moving around in their virtual environment.
The benefits of using the HTC Vive over the Oculus Rift for standing and moving VR content are:
- The HTC Vive contains a forward facing camera that allows participants to visualize the Vive hand controllers, specifically made for the HTC Vive, even when participants are wearing the headset and are within their VR environment.
- The ability to create a virtual gaming area. When partipants start approaching the safety boundaries of the playing area, a grid wall will appear within the VR environment. This creates a safer playing environment and participants are less likely to encounter hazards in the event space such as chairs, equipment or tables.
- The HTC Vive VR system includes two hand controllers specifically created for VR interactivity. The controllers enhances your VR experience by becoming various instruments/controllers within your virtual space and experience.
